Saudi Arabia’s General Authority for Civil Aviation (GACA) held the fourth steering committee meeting to activate the national strategy for the aviation sector, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
GACA President Abdulaziz Al-Duailej explained that the civil aviation sector strategy contributes to achieving the objectives of Vision 2030, as well as to advance and develop the sector to achieve the best results and achievements locally, regionally and internationally.
The strategy is an important contributor to economic development and reflects the role as a legislator for the sector in developing its vision, priorities, objectives and trends in order to enable the sector to achieve aspirations, he added.
Al-Duailej pointed out the importance of intensifying efforts and improving the overall performance of the sector, in addition to strengthening the role of civil aviation to raise the level of the sector and increase its competitive value.
He added that this will help to achieve the aspirations of the good leadership of investing and developing in this sector to serve citizens and passengers in general.
He also praised efforts the efforts of civil aviation sector employees and teamwork in light of the challenges facing the sector.
The meeting also discussed the highlights of the civil aviation strategy project and its achievements with regard to the recommendations of the third meeting of the steering committee to activate the strategy.
Meanwhile, the agenda included mulling the extent to which the sector is recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic, and a presentation of the latest achievements and leading projects for the aviation sector for 2021, as well as the 2022 strategic initiatives plan for aviation.
