Dr. Muhammad Al-Abdulaali, Spokesperson for the Saudi Ministry of Health, said the COVID-19 curve has been recently on the rise, and this uptick raises concerns, SPA reported.
However, he added that critical cases are stable.
Al-Abdulaali urged everyone to maintain immunity through receiving the third booster dose and complying with all precautionary measures at public and crowded places.
The ministry will soon start a campaign to vaccinate those who are above five years, the spokesperson said.
He added that the Kingdom has administered 48 million vaccine doses, and 22.9 million persons were fully vaccinated.
The pandemic is still spreading worldwide, with several cities are witnessing a rise in new cases, Al-Abdulaali affirmed, pointing to the media reports that mentioned that the Omicron variant is of high concern, being detected in almost 50% of the world.
