Prices of 108 Saudi goods, services rise in November

Prices of 55 goods and services in Saudi Arabia decreased year-on-year (YoY) in November, while prices of 108 out of 166 goods and services rose, data issued by the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) showed.

 

Out of the 91 food products, local zucchini recorded the biggest rise by 20.32% YoY. It was followed by local cucumber with a 19.38% increase YoY.

 

On the other hand, Egyptian navel oranges and Indian cardamom saw the steepest decline YoY at 17.41% and 17.31%, respectively.

 

Meanwhile, prices of 35 construction materials increased YoY in November, while the remaining three products saw declines during the same month.

 

Prices of all 11 fodder and livestock products increased on a YoY basis during the month.

 

For clothes, five items under this category saw an increase and five others saw a decrease.

 

Two out of four personal services saw a YoY rise in November.

 

Prices of one out of four detergents increased last month compared to the same period previous year.

 

Elsewhere, all three healthcare services were up in the same period.

 

In addition, prices of one out of two services under the maintenance and repair of personal means of transportation grew in November YoY.

 

The prices of hotel and furnished apartment services rose on an annual basis in November.

 

Under tobacco, prices of Marlboro cigarettes fell by 1.06% per pack YoY.
