US expects OPEC+ to release oil supplies to meet demand

The White House said that the administration of US President Joe Biden is in regular contact with the member countries of the OPEC+.

Press Secretary Jen Psaki stated that the Biden administration hopes the group to release more oil supplies to meet the demand for crude.

OPEC+ is scheduled to meet on Dec. 2, regarding the decision of member states for supply policy, which indicates a monthly increase of 400,000 barrels per day (bpd).

On the other hand, Psaki said that the White House is frustrated by the drop in crude oil prices at a time when there has been no decline in gasoline prices at gas stations for consumers.

“Yes, we are frustrated because we have seen a drop in oil prices but we haven't seen a decline in gasoline prices,” she said.
