CITC says 5G services reached 76 Saudi cities in Q3 2021

Saudi Arabia’s Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) revealed an increase in the penetration rate of 5G services in the Kingdom during the third quarter of the year, with 5G services reaching 76 Saudi cities.
 

In its quarterly report (Meqyas), CITC said stc came on top of service providers for 5G penetration by reaching 60 cities. It was followed by Mobile Telecommunication Company Saudi Arabia (Zain KSA) with 46 cities, then Etihad Etisalat Co. (Mobily) with 20 cities during Q3 2021.
 

In a statement obtained by Argaam, CITC said that the average download speed on mobile 5G networks in the Kingdom stood at 367.73 Mbps per second.

 

Telecom operator, stc reported the highest average download speed of 393.81 Mbps. Zain KSA came second (341.9 Mbps) and Mobily took the third place, with an average speed of 290.25 Mbps.
 

Moreover, Zain KSA led peers in terms of 5G penetration in Riyadh, Qassim, Hail, Eastern Province, Najran, Aseer, Jazan, Al-Baha, Madinah and Tabuk. stc came on top in the Northern Borders region and Al-Jouf, while Mobily was the best 5G service provider in Makkah.
