Minister of Education Hamad Al Al-Sheikh
Saudi Minister of Education Hamad Al Al-Sheikh said the challenges that education faced over the past two years made international cooperation a necessity for planning the future of peoples, as well as creating opportunities to test their resilience to new challenges.
In his speech to the Global Education Meeting, the minister affirmed the Kingdom's commitment to investing in education and supporting the global call to recover from COVID-19.
He added that the Saudi Ministry of Education dealt with this challenge and provided a wide range of digital learning tools, as well as e-learning curricula.
During the meeting, Paris Declaration on Education was adopted, under which the participating members pledged to increase investment in education through relying on public financing, cooperation between the public and private sectors, as well as strengthening international aid to the education sector. The declaration considered this sector a priority with the aim of allocating 0.7% of the donor countries' gross national product (GDP) for the official development assistance.
