The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture (MEWA) plans to create a database for Saudi investments abroad, through assessing such investments, the first of which will be the launch of a geospatial portal in late December, Al Eqtisadiah newspaper reported, citing Mohamed Al-Abdullatif, director general of the project to stop the cultivation of green fodder.
Through the portal, an agricultural record will be issued for Saudi investors, including their data such as activities and production volume.
He further said the ministry is interested in building a database similar to the developed agricultural record program, which covered 11 out of 13 Saudi regions and registered about 300,000 farms in them.
Earlier this month, MEWA launched a program to assess agricultural investments abroad, which targets Saudi investors and suppliers from outside the Kingdom, Argaam earlier reported.
