The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) granted airport ground handler, SATS Saudi Arabia, a license to provide air cargo handling services at King Abdulaziz International Airport (KAIA) in Jeddah.
This step comes within GACA’s initiatives to enhance and liberalize air freight services, so that the logistics operations became more resilient to increase capacity, in line with the civil aviation strategy aimed at doubling the air freight capacity to 4.5 million tons in the Kingdom.
This came in the light of the second cargo operator contract in KAIA, according to a statement from GACA.
GACA is forecast to continue the pursuit of its strategic goals, attract foreign investors and boost the quality of the services provided to help the aviation sector ranked first in the Middle East. It also seeks to capitalize on the investment opportunities to make the Kingdom a global logistics hub, in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
