Expat remittances from Saudi Arabia rise 6% to SAR 116.3 bln in 9M 2021

Remittances from expatriates in Saudi Arabia rose by 6% year-on-year (YoY) to SAR 116.3 billion in the first nine months of 2021, according to recent data released by the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA).

 

In September, remittances increased by 1% YoY to SAR 13.35 billion. 

 

Compared to August, remittances from expatriates in Saudi Arabia declined around 3%, or SAR 388 million.

Meanwhile, remittances sent by Saudi nationals to other countries rose 36% YoY to SAR 47 billion in 9M 2021.

 

In September, remittances sent by Saudi nationals to other countries leapt by 44% YoY to SAR 5.79 billion.
