GACA issues September classification for air transport service providers, airports

The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) issued an index to classify air transport service providers and airports based on the number of complaints filed by travelers to the authority in September 2021.

 

The index monitored the total complaints lodged by travelers to GACA in September on air carriers amounted to 355.

 

Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia) recorded the lowest number of complaints, reaching nine per 100,000 passengers, with a closure rate of 74%. It was followed by flynas, with 16 complaints per 100,000 passengers, and a closure rate of 94%. The third position was taken by flyadeal, with 19 complaints per 100,000 passengers and a closure rate of 92%.

 

The most frequent complaints in September were about ticket refunding, followed by cancellation of flights, and delayed flights.

 

GACA clarified that King Fahd International Airport in Dammam was the lowest in terms of complaints filed to the authority per every 100,000 passengers in September, with 16 complaints per every 100,000 passengers and a closure rate of 55%. It was followed by Abha International Airport, with four complaints and a closure rate of 100%.

 

Najran Airport came in third, with one complain per every 100,000 passengers.
