HRSD minister issues Saudization decisions for health specialization, medical devices professions

Saudi Minister of Human Resources and Social Development (HRSD) Ahmed Al-Rajhi issued two new decisions for the Saudization of the health specialization and medical devices professions across the Kingdom, effective April 11, 2022.

 

The first decision is for the Saudization of the jobs of medical laboratories, radiology, physiotherapy, and therapeutic nutrition in all medical facilities operating in the Kingdom. A minimum pay of SAR 7,000 will be set for specialists and SAR 5,000 for technicians, according to the ministry’s statement.

 

The minister indicated that Saudization will be at 60% of the total number of workers in the target health specializations.

 

Meanwhile, the second decision is for the Saudization of the activity of medical devices and equipment, which targets the professions of sales, advertising and introducing medical devices. These professions will be localized by 40% in the first phase and 80% in the second phase, he added.

 

The decision will also target the engineering and technical professions for medical devices in the private sector, which will be localized by 30% in the first phase and 50% in the second phase. A minimum pay of SAR 7,000 will be set for engineers, specialists and bachelor’s degree holders, while SAR 5,000 will be fixed for technicians. and diploma holders.

 

The ministry indicated that the two decisions will provide more than 8,500 jobs for citizens, stressing that penalties will be applied against violating facilities.

 

The move comes as part of the ministry's efforts to provide promising and stable job opportunities for citizens, as well as increase their participation in the labor market.
