AbdulRahman Al-Hussein, spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce
More than 2,700 establishments and e-stores obtained licenses to offer discounts and promotions on the National Day, AbdulRahman Al-Hussein, spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce, said on his official Twitter account.
Discounts will be offered on more than seven million products, including clothes, furniture, perfumes, watches, jewelry and food products.
Every shopping center, with a footfall of more than 100, will oblige visitors to apply a gathering barcode.
Al-Hussein stressed that the ministry monitors prices to ensure that shoppers are not misled by “fake discounts”.
The ministry will tighten the regulatory measures on the National Day, urging the public to report violations, Al-Hussein said, adding that strict penalties will be implemented.
