Signing Ceremony
Ahmed Al-Faris, Governor of the Saudi Grains Organization (SAGO), signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Rushd Consulting Management Co. to participate in establishing a center for reducing food loss and waste in the Kingdom.
The move will be activated in partnership with the private sector to follow up, measure and evaluate food loss and waste.
In a statement, the corporation said the center will contribute to developing the relevant policies and systems as well as encouraging innovation. In addition, the center will contribute to raising the level of awareness among producers and consumers, as well as implementing the second field survey scheduled for the next year.
The move came to activate the outcomes of the field survey study of food loss and waste in the Kingdom, in conjunction with the launch of the new visual identity of the program and start of the awareness campaign that aims to reduce food loss and waste by 50% by the beginning of 2030.
