Al Othaim appoints new CEO as Abdulaziz Al-Othaim resigns

Abdullah Al Othaim Markets Co.’s (Al Othaim) board of directors approved, on Aug. 26, the resignation of Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Abdulaziz Abdullah Saleh Al-Othaim, effective Sept. 30, with the continuation of his membership in the board.

 

The company said in a bourse statement that the resignation is in line with the direction of the board of directors to raise the level of application of governance standards, enhance the principle of separation of ownership from management, in addition to his desire to devote himself to his own business.

 

Furthermore, the board of directors approved the appointment of Mohsen Sager Husain as the new CEO, effective Oct. 1.

 

Husain will join from today, Aug. 29 to start receiving duties and with the current CEO until the effective date of his resignation on Sept. 30, to ensure the smooth transition of tasks.

 

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Texas, a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Texas, and Food Management Program from Cornell University.

 

Husain has accumulated experience of 25 years through his work in holding several positions in different companies in food retail inside and outside the Kingdom. He also holds certificates from various courses.
