Saudi Export Development Authority (SEDA) stated that the number of companies that joined “Made in Saudi” program reached more than 900 with over 2,000 products since its launch, Al Eqtisadiah newspaper reported.

A total of 16 different sectors represent a top priority for the program, such as chemicals and polymers, building materials, electronics, and packaging. Other sectors will join soon.

The authority further said it seeks to increase the number of members and registered products after having built an identity for national industries.

In March, Bandar Alkhorayef, Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, and Chairman of SEDA, launched “Made in Saudi” program, under the patronage of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Argaam earlier reported.

The program aims to create more than 1.3 million job opportunities in the industrial and mining sector and raise the private sector's participation from 40% to 65% in the gross domestic product (GDP). In addition, it aims to raise the percentage of non-oil exports to 50% and foreign direct investment from 3.8% to an international average of 5.7%.
