Saudi Arabia filed a complaint to the World Trade Organization (WTO) about the anti-dumping duties imposed by the European Union on monoethylene glyco (MEG) limports from the Kingdom, according to a WTO statement.
The Kingdom indicated that the ant-dumping duties imposed for six months on June 12, 2021 breach the provisions of the World Trade Organization Anti-Dumping Agreement and the 1994 General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT).
The anti-dumping duties reached 11.1% on monoethylene glycolimports from all Saudi companies, including Yanbu National Petrochemical Co. (Yansab),Saudi Kayan Petrochemical Co., Al Sharqiyah Petrochemicals Co. (Sharq), Saudi Yanbu Petrochemical Co. (YANPET), Arabian Petrochemical Co. (Petrokemya) and Jubail United Petrochemical Co.
The European Union imposed 38.3% anti-dumping duties on monoethylene glycol imports from US companies.
According to data compiled by Argaam, Yansab,Saudi Kayan, Rabigh Refining and Petrochemical Co.(Petro Rabigh), YANPET and Jubail United Petrochemical producemonoethylene glycol in the Kingdom.
