Saudi Ceramic Co.’s (Saudi Ceramics) board of directors approved, on Aug. 18, setting up a new factory to produce porcelain tiles using the latest international technologies, with a production capacity of 8.25 million square meters annually, at a total cost of SAR 249.3 million.
The project will be financed through a combination of borrowing and self-financing, the company said in a bourse statement, indicating that it will be implemented by a group of manufacturers and suppliers inside and outside the Kingdom.
The implementation phase will start in Q4 2021. The trial run is set to begin in Q1 2023 and will continue for one month before starting the commercial operations.
The plant is expected to be complete and begin commercial operations in Q2 2023, the statement added.
The project is forecast to have a positive impact on the company's revenues starting Q2 2023 after the commercial run.
