Saudi King issues royal decree on maintaining local gasoline price ceiling

King Salman issued a royal decree on maintaining local gasoline price ceiling for June at SAR 2.18 per liter and SAR 2.33 per liter for Octane 91 and Octane 95, respectively as of July 10, 2021, according to the Executive Committee for the Energy and Water Price Reform Governance. 

 

Under the decree, the state will cover the difference that might exceed June prices during the periodical monthly review.  

 

The move came as part of the Kingdom’s efforts to improve the standard of living for citizens and residents, and to support local economic activity. 

 

According to the royal decree, the new price ceiling will apply to the July gasoline prices, which rose to SAR 2.28 per liter for Octane 91 and SAR 2.44 per liter and Octane 95.
