The board of directors of Abdulmohsen Alhokair Group for Tourism and Development (Alhokair Group) approved the appointment of Fahad Al-Fawaz as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective today, July 1.
The company said in a bourse filing that the board approved to terminate the role of Sami bin Abdulmohsen AlHokair as the acting CEO while he maintains his position as a Managing Director (MD).
Al-Fawaz holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the British University of Surrey and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Management from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals.
He has deep and varied practical and administrative experiences in leadership positions in various business fields, focused on hotel operation and real estate development. He worked as a member of boards of directors and audit committees for several hotel and real estate companies, as well as in the banking field and industrial development.
He also received training for hotel general manager at Cornell University, New York, and various courses in the banking field with a number of banks and financial institutions in the Kingdom and abroad.
In February 2020, the company announced the resignation of CEO Omar Sami Samara for personal reasons, according to data compiled by Argaam.
The company named MD Sami bin Abdulmohsen Alhokair as acting CEO.
