Nazaha continues clamp down on corruption, seizes SAR 505 mln

The Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha) said that several criminal cases were initiated recently and the related procedures are being completed.

 

Nazaha affirmed that it will continue clamp down on corruption and abuse of public finances.

In one of the cases, Nazaha in coordination with the Ministry of Interior, the Public Prosecution, the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) arrested three employees working in a bank and 11 residents for opening accounts and depositing illicit funds worth more than SAR 505 million.


In another case verdict, Nazaha halted two employees of the Ministry of Municipal, Rural Affairs and Housing for establishing a commercial entity that wins subcontracts worth SAR 10 million from a foreign company.


A judge, who was a former president of an enforcement court, was also suspended as he obtained SAR 19,500 from a businessman and other person to consider their lawsuits.

 

An employee at the Ministry of Health was also arrested for receiving SAR 40,000 funds from citizens.
