Saudi Arabia records 1,479 COVID-19 cases on Tuesday

Saudi Arabia recorded 1,479 COVID-19 cases today, June 22, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 476,882, the Ministry of Health stated.

 

Today's infections are the highest since Aug. 13, 2020.

 

Recoveries reached 920, raising the total number of recovered cases to 458,048 (96% of total COVID-19 cases).

 

Active cases totaled 11,131, of which 1,487 cases are critical.

 

The Kingdom reported 12 new deaths, with the death toll standing at 7,703.

 

Makkah reported the highest number of COVID-19 cases at 431, followed by Eastern Province (280), Riyadh (256), Asir (149), Jazan (99), Al Qassim (71) and Madinah (65).

 

Saudi Arabia concluded 97,200 new tests, bringing the total number of laboratory tests to 21.13 million.

 

Almost 16.77 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in the Kingdom to date.
