A total of 65 institutions used the service of expat employment at private sector healthcare entities till April 2021, Al Eqtisadiah reported, citing Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (HRSD).

A total of 126 beneficiaries made use of this service, while 61 individuals used the expat employment service.

The service entails temporary employment of expat workers in private sector healthcare facilities via Ajeer program, Saudi Arabia’s hiring portal.

In December 2019, the ministry announced allowing transfer of foreign workers between various private sector companies, without any conditions. The ministry said that under the new system, private enterprises can transfer their foreign workers without stipulating the types of their commercial activities. This was part of a series of initiatives announced by the ministry to facilitate the work of enterprises, and provide opportunities to benefit from the available manpower in the labor market.
