BCI names Ala Al-Shaikh as new CEO

Basic Chemical Industries Co.’s (BCI) board of directors approved on Feb. 28, 2021, the appointment of Ala Abdullah Abdulkarim Al-Shaikh as chief executive officer (CEO), as of today, March 1, 2021. 

Abdulatif Azmi Abdulatif Abdulhadi will no longer carry out work as acting CEO, the company said in a bourse filing. However, he will remain a member of the board of directors and a member of the nominations and remuneration committee.

Al-Shaikh holds a master’s degree in business administration for executives and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals. He has more than 24 years of experience in industrial companies, having worked in many local companies, including Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC).
