The Ministry of Health announced today, Feb. 18, that the National Scientific Committee for Infectious Diseases approved the administration of only one dose of COVID-19 vaccine for those who have been previously infected by the coronavirus.

The dose will be given six months after recovery from the disease, the ministry said on its official Twitter account, adding that it will operate as a trigger for natural immunity that has already been developed.

According to data compiled by Argaam, the ministry announced the roll-out of the second phase of the COVID-19 vaccination campaign across the Kingdom.

Moreover, the Saudi Food & Drug Authority (SFDA) authorized the use of the British AstraZeneca's COVID-19 vaccine, developed in cooperation with the University of Oxford.
