Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Justice approves documentation regulations

Saudi Minister of Justice Walid Al-Sama'ani approved the documentation regulations to improve the efficiency of forensic documentation and enhance the real estate security, preventive justice, and the professionalism of documentation.

The regulations stipulate the following:

 

- Making the documentation via the electronic systems approved by the ministry;

 

- Benefiting from the state-of-the-art technologies and artificial intelligence (AI) to make the documentation procedures;

 

- Determining the experience needed for occupying the position of notary in accordance with Article 7 of the regulations;

 

- Identifying the professional duties of the notary and the marriage officer;

 

- Facilitating the terms of headquarters to the notary so as to support the expansion of the profession.

 

The regulations, which include 57 articles, came into effect as of Jan. 14, 2021.
