Cabinet meeting under the leadership of King Salman


Saudi Cabinet, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, approved the electricity law and the digital economy policy, the official gazette reported.

 

The electricity law aims to protect the customer rights and offer him reliable services at competitive prices, in addition to creating appropriate environment for electricity business.

 

In addition, the law is to encourage the private sector to participate in the electricity business expansion to achieve fair economic returns.

 

Meanwhile, the digital economy policy aims to contribute to the development of the Kingdom's digital economy and familiarize the public and private sectors as well as the international community with the Kingdom’s orientations in the digital economy-related files.

 

According to the policy, the government entities will enhance the role of the digital economy to achieve diversified and sustainable economic growth and offer competitive advantages for the Kingdom.
