Arabian Shield receives SAMA nod to appoint Bassel Al-Abdulkarim as CEO

Arabian Shield Cooperative Insurance obtained the approval of Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) on the appointment of Bassel Al-Abdulkarim as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective as of Jan. 3, 2021, the insurer said in a bourse statement today.

 

In October 2020, the board of directors recommended Al-Abdulkarim’s appointment.

 

Al-Abdulkarim holds master’s degree in engineering management as well as information system management from California State University. He has more than 10 years of experience in insurance and also has CII certificate from the Chartered Insurance Institute – UK.
