The General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI) logo
The General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI) granted licenses to 54 international and local companies in the military industries field since the launch of the licensing e-portal in September 2019 until Q3 2020, the Ministry of Investment reported.
In September 2019, Saudi Arabia began accepting license applications for firms in the military industrial sector, a major target under the Kingdom's revenue diversification plans.
GAMI licensed firms to manufacture military ammunition, explosives, equipment, equipment services, and electronics.

The Ministry of Investment indicated that GAMI issued 70 permits across six different activities, with military equipment topping with a share of 43% of total permits followed by equipment services (21%).

GAMI targets nationalization of 11 industrial and services supply segments by 2030, which are:
-Defense electronics; conventional ammunition and weapons; guided munitions, missiles and rockets; UAV platforms and structural components; UAV maintenance, repair and overhaul, and cyber domain.
-Maintenance, repair, overhaul and spare parts for aircraft wings.
-Platform and structural components for land systems.
-Maintenance, repair, and overhaul of spare parts for land systems and naval systems.
GAMI aims 24% of localization rate by 2025 and 50% by 2030, the ministry highlighted.
