Saudi ports container handling rises 13.7% to 622,000 TEU in November

Saudi ports saw an increase of more than 13.7% year-on-year (YoY) in the number of containers handled in November 2020 to 622,000 twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU).

 

The total cargo tonnage handled at Saudi ports in November 2020 reached more than 24 million tons, via 962 vessels, according to the monthly statistical bulletin of Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani).

 

The total foodstuff cargo increased 30% (2.3 million tons) in November. Meanwhile, vehicles cargo reached more than 70,000, while livestock cargo rose by 47% to reach 173,000.
