Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Health said that all Saudi nationals and residents can register to obtain the COVID-19 vaccine, as of today, Dec. 15 via Sehaty application.
The ministry stressed the safety and efficacy of the new vaccine is proved through testing, and affirmed that all citizens and residents will get the vaccine for free.
The new vaccine will be administered in three phases.
Target categories in Phase 1 include nationals and residents who are above 65 years, the most vulnerable categories, obese people whose body mass exceeds 40, people with immunodeficiency, and those with two or more chronic diseases.
Target categories in Phase 2 include all nationals and residents aged over 50 and those suffering from any chronic disease.
Target categories in Phase 3 include all nationals and residents who seek to receive the vaccine.
On Dec. 10, the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) approved registration of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine in the Kingdom, Argaam reported.
