The Kingdom will receive COVID-19 vaccine in phases and each phase will have its priority, said Muhammad Al-Abdulaali, official spokesman for the Ministry of Health.
In a press briefing, Al-Abdulaali said that the ministry's recommendation reflects its keenness to receive the vaccine, and the measures adopted by the Kingdom to approve the vaccine are the official actions applied by the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA).
He added that the authority has taken tough measures to ensure the safety and efficacy of the vaccine.
On Dec. 10, SFDA approved registration of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine in the Kingdom, according to data compiled by Argaam.
The US firm Pfizer applied to register the new vaccine, to allow the Saudi health authorities to import and use the new medication.
