Saudi Arabia shows exceptional leadership in combating COVID-19: energy minister

Saudi Arabia, which took the presidency over G20 in 2020, demonstrated exceptional leadership with other G20 members and states worldwide in facing the unprecedented crisis of the coronavirus pandemic, the Saudi Press Agency reported, citing Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, Minister of Energy.

Prince Abdulaziz highlighted the great success made by the Kingdom to combat the pandemic locally and its role to curb the pandemic outbreak globally, referring to the Kingdom’s initiatives launched under the theme “Let us inspire the world with our vision”.
 

Saudi Arabia launched a number of initiatives and formed task forces for key sectors, as part of its efforts to overcome the coronavirus pandemic fallout.
 

Commenting on the G20 Energy Ministers Meeting, the Saudi minister added that these meetings focused on fostering cooperation to ensure the stability of the global oil market and the security of its supplies. The meetings also tackled pollution and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
