New bus transport regulation to be unveiled soon, says official

The new regulation for bus transport inside and outside Saudi Arabia is imminent, Okaz newspaper reported, citing the Director General of Transport General Authority in the Eastern Region, Othman Al-Othman.

He said that the new regulation is ready to be implemented, and will avoid many observations in the current system.

On the other hand, the official pointed out that a tighter system is being issued for foreign trucks that are in violation of the Kingdom's internal transport rules.

Al-Othman pointed out that the forthcoming system aims to eliminate the violations of foreign trucks and their operations to roam in the areas and transport goods without a license, in addition to violating safety requirements, as well as the damage caused from the continued violation of internal transport to the national economy.
