Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Housing announced white land tax for Makkah for the year 2020/21 (1442/1443 Hijri).
In a tweet, the Ministry called on landowners concerned to develop their property or pay the tax within a year of the decision, adding that a failure to make the payment within the stipulated period will result in a violation fee that may be up to 100% of the tax value.
The white land fee system was introduced on June 8, 2016, and was implemented in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and Makkah, according to data compiled by Argaam.
