Saudi Geological Survey (SGS) will sign today, Oct.18, four contracts with international experts and consultants to undertake the projects pertaining to the Geological Survey General Program under the sponsorship of Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources.
The program, at this stage, aims to survey nearly 600,000 square kilometers (sqkm) of the mineral-rich Arabian Shield region, Saudi Press Agency reported, citing SGS official spokesperson, Tariq Aba Al-Khail.
The program projects will be undertaken by SGS professional cadres, other consultants from international as well as governmental survey entities, in addition to private companies with huge track-record in the field, which will ensure high-quality results.
Aba Al-Khail indicated that the Geological Survey General Program is a key initiative of the Saudi comprehensive mining strategy related to the Vision 2030, which aims at maximizing the added value through the optimum use of the mineral resources in the Kingdom.
