16/10/2020 Argaam

Food supplies in the Kingdom have not been impacted by COVID-19 pandemic, due to its investment in the modern regulatory systems, said Hisham Aljadhey, CEO of Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA).

He added that the Kingdom has taken the necessary measures to ensure the continuity of food supplies and the safety of imported food, the Saudi Press Agency reported, citing Aljadhey.

The authority has cooperated with the public and private sectors to provide the local markets with a variety of food products, the CEO said, noting that SFDA sought to facilitate the procedures of importing and testing foodstuffs through the Kingdom’s land, air and sea ports.

The government exerted great efforts to ease the repercussions of COVID-19 on nationals and residents, especially amid the closure of several borders across the world, Aljadhey said.
