Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Human Resource and Social Development Ahmed bin Sulaiman Al-Rajhi issued a decision to localize the professions of communications and information technology in private sector entities.
The decision applies to all establishments with five or more workers, with jobs in communications, information technology engineering, application development, programming and analysis, technical support and telecommunications technical, the ministry said in a statement.
The ministry added that it aims to provide 9,000 job opportunities in the field of communications and IT to stimulate the sector’s growth. It also has set the wage of the targeted localized jobs to start from SAR 7,000 for specialized professions and from SAR 5,000 for technical professions.
The announcement is part of a set of decisions to localize professions that the ministry has shortlisted. It is also an extension of the agreement, to localize communications and IT jobs, which the HR Ministry sealed with the Ministry of Communications, the Human Resources Development Fund and the Council of Saudi Chambers.
The agreement aims to ensure job opportunities for Saudi graduates in the field of communications and IT, along with providing a suitable work environment in the private sector.
