Saudi Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar Alkhorayef, said that continued government support for the economic sectors in general contributed to the employment of 471 Saudis in July, in exchange for laying off 1,904 expatriates.
He added that the industrial sector, despite the COVID-19 outbreak, was able to add SAR 1.15 billion to the capital of the new licensed factories by issuing 86 new licenses last month.
Non-metallic mineral products industry came first with 18 licenses, followed by food industry (15 licenses), rubber and plastics industry (13 licenses), other manufacturing industries (10), furniture industry (7 licenses), in addition to the rest of industries.
