Saudi Arabia is one of the first countries that realized the danger of the coronavirus, Saudi Press Agency reported, citing Abdullah bin Nasser Abuthnain, Deputy Minister of Human Resources and Social Development for Labor.

The Kingdom has made proactive and preventive efforts in curbing the virus and limit its spread at an early stage, in addition to providing all the necessary capabilities at the highest level, he added.

Abuthnain indicated that the extraordinary summit, held by the leaders of the G20 and convened by Saudi Arabia, who currently chairs the group, was called to coordinate and unite the global efforts to combat the COVID-19 pandemic and protect jobs, income and economy in general.

The deputy minister made the statements during the high-level regional summit meeting held by the International Labor Organization (ILO) in the Arab countries on COVID-19 through video conferencing.
