Saudi Arabia calls for emergency OPEC+ meeting

02/04/2020 Argaam

Saudi Arabia called for an emergency meeting for OPEC+ members and other countries to reach a fair agreement and restore the desired balance to oil markets, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Thursday.

The Kingdom also hints at its recent efforts to reach an OPEC+ agreement to rebalance the market. Saudi Arabia won the approval of 22 countries, but no agreement has been reached due to the lack of unanimous agreement.

The meeting invitation comes as part of the Kingdom’s constant efforts to support global economy amid the current exceptional conditions and in appreciation of the US President Donald Trump's request.
