Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) launched on Wednesday of a new shipping line connecting the Kingdom with East African countries through shipping services provider CMA CGM.
It is also the first container shipping line to reach King Fahd Industrial Port in Yanbu, which contributes to enhancing the movement of exports and imports to and from Yanbu.
The new shipping line will link the Jeddah Islamic Port and King Fahd Industrial Port in Yanbu with East Africa ports, Mawani said in its official Twitter account.
It will also lead to opening direct lines for shipping and exporting local products, increasing the capacity of cargo handling in the Saudi ports, in addition to contributing to direct import from East Africa and expanding trade.
The line will strengthen the connectivity between Saudi ports, USA, Mediterranean Sea, Europe, Kenya and Somalia, thus attracting investments and developing the Kingdom’s non-oil revenue.
