Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Maaden) subsidiary, Ma’aden Phosphate Company (MPC), received the ISO Asset Management System (ISO 55001) and ISO Risk Management System (ISO 31000) certifications for its 2 major complexes, the Integrated Fertilizer Production Complex in Ras Al Khair Industrial City, and the Mine and Plant in Al Jalamid.

The Asset Management System Certification will aid MPC in managing the lifecycle of assets more efficiently and ensure compliance with international safety and performance standards, Maaden said in a statement.

Meanwhile, the Risk Management System Certification will provide the guidelines and framework to handle different categories of risk in both complexes.

“Successfully adopting these 2 management systems means that we will be more efficient in supporting Maaden’s long-term strategy, which is driven by operational excellence and asset optimization,” President of MPC, Abdullah Alajmi, said.

Maaden is currently among the top 3 global phosphate fertilizer producers with a current production of approximately 6 million tons per year.
