Etihad Atheeb Telecommunication Co. (GO) said in a bourse filing that Riyadh’s Administrative Court of Appeal will issue its decision on Sunday, March 22 about the company’s appeal against the Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC).
The appeal was heard at the court on March 4.
The telecom operator said that it is currently difficult to estimate the related financial impact, adding other developments will be announced later on.
In September 2017, Atheeb filed a claim to cancel the CITC’s decision to reclaim the additional spectrum awarded to the telco, following its failure to pay the first installment of SAR 619 million, or 30% of the total amount it owes for the frequencies.
On March 3, 2020, Riyadh Administrative Court of Appeal upheld the previous ruling of the Administrative Court in which it rejected Atheeb’s claim against the Saudi telecom regulator.
