Saudi Arabia’s ultra-luxury development, Amaala, appointed Foster + Partners as the architectural advisors for the project, it said in a statement today.

The British architectural design and engineering firm will be responsible for innovative and sustainable design solutions across Amaala’s masterplans and projects.

“The ambition and scale of the project is striking, and we’re excited to help Saudi Arabia with its vision for a luxury experience which acknowledges nature and ecological significance of the site for tourists,” Stuart Latham, senior partner at Foster + Partners, said.

Through its trio of communities, Amaala will establish a hub for arts and culture with a focus on contemporary art, as well as an integrated health, wellness and sports offering globally. It includes:

- Triple Bay – It will offer a holistic wellness retreat, diagnostic medical facilities and authentic treatments designed to feature the local environment. Triple Bay will also be home to a fully integrated sports and entertainment community.

- The Coastal Development – It will become a hub of contemporary art in the Middle East, playing host to a dynamic program of events from the global arts and cultural calendar.

- The Island – It will be a home of an exclusive art community, set amid an Arabic botanical garden complemented by a collection of sculptural pieces.

Amaala is being rolled out across 3 key phases, with completion of the destination expected before the realization of Saudi Vision 2030.
