Sadara Chemical Company, a subsidiary of Saudi Aramco, announced that Paris-based Veolia Middle East SAS has laid the foundation stone of a waste-to-energy plant in PlasChem Park located in Jubail Industrial City II.

Sadara tweeted on its official Twitter page that the plant will provide long-term solutions for waste management in favor of Sadara.

It further noted that Veolia will process the industrial waste streams generated from Sadara and harness energy in order to provide steam, refrigeration, and fresh compressed air.

The project will provide more than 100 national job opportunities in the Kingdom, the company indicated, adding that it will offer extensive training to develop skills.

In Dec. 2018, Sadara signed an agreement with Veolia Middle East SAS to build and operate a sustainable industrial waste to energy plant in PlasChem Park.
