Etihad Etisalat Co. (Mobily) signed an agreement with Ericsson to leverage the latter’s products and solutions to empower Saudi government and private sectors towards digital transformation.

The agreement will also accelerate the deployment of digital services, and expand the provision of Internet of Things (IoT) solutions, including Mobily's smart meter project that is driven by the Saudi Electricity Co. (SEC).

“At Mobily, we strive to make our services and products a viable choice for customers in the government and private sectors towards digital transformation," Alaa Malky, Mobily Chief Technology Officer, said.

The end-to-end expansion of Mobily’s network will see the deployment of Ericsson products and solutions spanning transport, core, charging and billing and radio access – including 5G products from the Ericsson Radio System portfolio.
