Arabian Cement Co. said that cement mills in Rabigh are 99.4% completed.
Construction works will be fully finalized by Q2 2020, and commercial operations are expected to be launched in Q3 2020, it said in a statement to Tadawul.
The delay was driven by the contractor company which missed the work schedule. Nevertheless, it will not cause any change in cost, and will not have any impact on the firm’s financial results, the cement producer said.
As for the second phase of building a clinker production line, the project is still under study and any developments will be revealed as they occur, the firm added.
Arabian Cement announced in June 2018 that the cement mills will be finalized in Q1 2019.
According to data compiled by Argaam, Arabian Cement inked in May 2015 a SAR 145 million contract with the national grid company to supply the cement producer with 49 megawatts of electricity at its Rabigh plant.
