Bahri shows interest in chartering tankers in LNG foray

The National Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia (Bahri) issued an expression of interest to charter up to 12 liquefied natural gas (LNG) tankers from 2025, its first foray into the superchilled fuel, Reuters reported citing some industry sources.

The step comes as part of Aramco’s expansion into LNG trading as it boosts gas production and considers expanding its LNG investments, the sources added.

Bahri's core business is transportation of oil, chemicals and bulk cargo, in addition to logistics and ship management. The fleet of Bahri consists of 90 varied tankers including 43 giant oil tankers, 36 chemical and petroleum products tankers, 6 multi-use tankers and 5 dry bulk carriers.
