Air Liquide Arabia (ALAR) and Saudi Aramco Base Oil Company (Luberef) have signed a long term agreement for the supply of hydrogen in Yanbu Industrial City. The new contract which will secure Luberef with a supply of hydrogen, is another example of integration between industries in the Kingdom, enabled by hydrogen pipeline networks in industrial cities.
Air Liquide and Luberef will jointly connect their hydrogen systems in Yanbu, providing the industrial community with additional reliability in hydrogen supply and enabling higher levels of energy efficiency. Luberef CEO, Mr Tareq Al Nuaim, stated “the connection to the hydrogen network of Air Liquide will improve further the reliability of Luberef operations”. Air Liquide Arabia General Manager, Mr Francois-Xavier Haulle said” Luberef is the latest connection to ALAR hydrogen networks that will enhance further the synergies between the industries in Yanbu. This is in line with the Saudi Vision 2030 and ALAR roadmap for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia”
Saudi Aramco Base Oil Company - Luberef - is a limited liability established in 1976 and owned by Saudi Aramco (70%) and Jadwa Investment Group (30%). Luberef operates two base oil refineries in Jeddah and Yanbu. Luberef is a regional leader in the production of Base Oils and committed to provide the comprehensive slate of high quality base oil and products.
