Saudi-based ACWA Power and its Operations and Maintenance arm, The First National Operation & Maintenance Co. (NOMAC), have formed a new entity – NOMAC Maintenance Energy Services (NMES) – as part of their expansion plans in the power and water market.
The newly formed NMES will specialize in deploying and providing technologically advanced maintenance solutions for power generation and water desalination plants, the utilities provider said in a statement.
NMES will benefit from and feed on the in-depth knowledge derived from ACWA Power and NOMAC’s expertise in operating and maintaining energy and water desalination plants in the region.
“The launch of the new company comes within ACWA Power and NOMAC’s commitment to supplying the water and power market with robust human and technical capabilities that meet the requirements of companies operating in these sectors, as well as facilitating the implementation of their ambitious plans,” Eng. Thamer Al Sharhan, Chairman of NOMAC and Managing Director at ACWA Power, said.
NMES will provide power and water desalination players across the Middle East with cost-efficient technology solutions for the maintenance of plant machinery and equipment.
The services provided by NMES will allow leading plants in the UAE, Oman and Saudi Arabia to significantly reduce overheads and downtime due to machinery breakdown and technical issues.
NMES will elevate value in countries that ACWA Power and NOMAC operate in through expert trainings, creation of job opportunities and upskilling of local talent in line with the companies’ commitment to bolster sustainable socio-economic prosperity.
